It has been a busy and energetic start to the term, with Sunshiners making the most of every opportunity to get active in and around the water.

Students across the school have been building confidence and skills through regular swimming lessons, with some year levels heading to the pool each week. Year 6 has also been enjoying water polo sessions, developing teamwork, strategy and plenty of poolside enthusiasm.

At the beach, some students have been taking part in Beginners Learn to Surf sessions, provided by Surfdancer Surf School, learning how to read the waves, paddle out and catch their first rides. Early mornings and even a rainy start didn’t dampen the excitement, with students keen to get into the water.

Sunshiners have also celebrated success in the pool at the recent district swimming carnival. Team Sunshine finished third overall in both the Aggregate and Enrolment Average competitions, a fantastic achievement. Several students also qualified for the regional carnival, representing the school with pride.

It has been a wonderful start to the year, with many more opportunities ahead.
