To help keep our school environment calm, safe and respectful, we ask families to take note of the following guidelines for drop-off and pick-up times.
Before school – calm and settled starts
Staff supervision begins at 8:00am each morning. If students arrive before this time, they are required to wait quietly in the area outside the office, where supervision is available.
We understand that early arrival may be unavoidable for some families. However, wherever possible, we encourage drop-offs after 8:00am to support a smooth and settled start to the day. Before 8:00am, our staff are preparing for the day ahead and are not available to supervise students in other areas of the school.
Once dismissed, students may move to their classroom areas and are welcome to engage in quiet activities such as:
- Reading
- Chatting with friends
- Playing handball or other calm games
Please note that active games (e.g. tag, large ball games) should be saved for first and second breaks when playground supervision is in place.
After school – safe and respectful pick-up
At the end of the school day, we ask families to leave the school grounds promptly. The playground is out of bounds after school hours and students should not remain on-site to play. A bell is rung at 2:50pm and all children who are still on the grounds waiting for pickup are expected to go to the office area to wait safely, not unsupervised around the perimeters of our school.
We also ask that families avoid gathering near classrooms and learning spaces, as many of our teachers continue working and holding meetings after students are dismissed. Your cooperation helps maintain a respectful and productive environment for staff and students alike.
