As we do not have a catchment area we are able to accept enrolments from all post codes.

What will my child learn in prep?
Teachers implement the Australian Curriculum in our prep classrooms. High expectations and quality teaching is delivered in the key learning areas of:
Prep learners are regularly assessed in line with the Australian Curriculum achievement expectations.
Formal reports are issued to parents/carers at the end of semester 1 and semester 2. A parent/teacher meeting will be held in the first semester of school.
Literacy and numeracy learning
The Prep year is a critical time for students to develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills for success in future learning and in later life.
Learners are provided with quality teaching and learning in these areas. Teachers carefully monitor learners and ensure their needs are met.

How does Prep help my child in Year 1?
The compulsory Prep year is now recognised as the first formal year of school. At Sunshine Beach State School, Prep provides an important foundation for future successful schooling.
