What will my child learn in prep?

Teachers implement the Australian Curriculum in our prep classrooms. High expectations and quality teaching is delivered in the key learning areas of:
  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • HASS

  • Health & Physical Education

  • Music and The Arts

  • Technology and ICT

Prep learners are regularly assessed in line with the Australian Curriculum achievement expectations.

Formal reports are issued to parents/carers at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2. A parent/teacher meeting will be held in the first semester of school.

Literacy and numeracy learning

The Prep year is a critical time for students to develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills for success in future learning and in later life.

Learners are provided with quality teaching and learning in these areas. Teachers carefully monitor learners and ensure their needs are met.

Our Prep program is committed to ensuring that our learners make a great start to the pursuit of excellence in all areas of their schooling.

How does Prep help my child in Year 1?

The compulsory Prep year is now recognised as the first formal year of school. At our school, it provides an important foundation for future successful schooling.
