P-2 classes had a fantastic time at our annual Under Eights morning last week. The school turned into a playground paradise with young students and the wider community coming together to enjoy traditions, music and arts from all around the globe.
This year, the theme was "Connecting to Culture Through Play," which was a perfect fit for the vibrant diversity of our school community. Under Eights Week promotes learning through play for kids in their first eight years of life. Thanks to the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Queensland Committee, this tradition has been going strong for over six decades.
Children explored different cultures through activities like craft-making, face painting, and even obstacle courses. It was great to see children getting involved in everything from NRL to Little Athletics. This event isn’t just about celebrating diversity; it’s about building understanding and empathy in our community.
We're already looking forward to next year's celebration!
