Swimming

​​​​​​​A swimming program  for year levels Prep - Year 5 occurs during  Term 1  or  Term 4.  The aims of the swimming program are as follows:

  • to increase water confidence
  • to develop water safety
  • to develop basic strokes.
  • to develop skills for survival swimming.

Lessons are conducted at the Noosa Aquatic Centre.

Swimming is a compulsory component of primary school curriculum.

Students in Years 4-6 take part in swimming carnivals during Term 4.

Noosa District Primary Schools representative swim carnival occurs during Term 1.

2025 Swim Carnivals

Wednesday 26 November
 9.45 am -11.45 am - Yr 5 Carnival (All Yr 5)
12.00 pm - 2.00 pm - Yr 4 Carnival (All Yr 4)

Thursday 27 November
9.45 am – 11.45 am - Selection trial for 2026 Noosa District Carnival.
12.00pm – 2.00 pm - Yr 6 Carnival (All Yr 6)

- Students will walk to pool.
- QPARENTS consent needs to be completed.
- Bring hat, water bottle and swimming gear.
- Participation and fun based carnivals.
- A competitive medley race is also scheduled for experienced competitive swimmers.
- Rash shirts must be worn however can be removed for Yr level champion medley race.

Lunch arrangements
Yr 5 
  • Bring morning tea to pool if needed or have a quick snack before walking over.
  • Do not order tuckshop for first break.
  • Normal lunch on return.
  • No access to canteen at pool.

Yr 4 and Yr 6 
  • Eat main lunch at first break.
  • Bring snack to pool if needed.
  • Do not order tuckshop second break.
  • No access to canteen at pool.

  • Freestyle 25 metres.
  • Backstroke 25 Metres
  • Novelty Event One 
  • Championship Medley Race

  • Novelty Event Two

Representative Swim Trial - 2026 District Swim Carnival

The 2026 Noosa District Swim Carnival will be held early in Term 1. Our team will be selected following a trial session on Thursday 27 November. Students born 2014, 2015 and 2016 are eligible.

Trial is aimed at experienced swimmers with expected standards available below.
Please note that students in Year 6 in 2025 are not eligible as they will access 2026 representative swimming via the high school system. Swimmers who are not available for this trial but wish to be considered for selection may submit some verified swim times.

Events are 50m and 100m in the four swim strokes.

Students must register for the swim trial. Further information will be emailed once registrations close. Register prior to 7 November. 

2026 Noosa District Swim Carnival​​

​Noosa District Carnival is scheduled for early Term 1 2026. SBSS team will be chosen following a selection trial session on Thursday 27 November 2025.

Thanks to all who have registered.

  • Swimmers will meet at tuckshop area and walk to pool with staff when prompted by PA message.
  • Bring morning tea to pool if needed or have a quick snack before walking over. 
  • Do not order tuckshop for first break.
  • Normal lunch on return.
  • No access to canteen at pool.
