Swimming

​​​​​​A swimming program  for year levels Prep - Year 5 occurs during  Term 1  or  Term 4.  The aims of the swimming program are as follows:

  • to increase water confidence
  • to develop water safety
  • to develop basic strokes.
  • to develop skills for survival swimming.

Lessons are conducted at the Noosa Aquatic Centre.

Swimming is a compulsory component of primary school curriculum.

Students in Years 4-6 take part in swimming carnivals during Term 4.

Noosa District Primary Schools representative swim carnival occurs during Term 1.

Wednesday 20 November 
  • Morning – Year 4 Carnival

  • Morning – Year 6 Carnival
  • Afternoon – Year 5 Carnival

Representative Swim Trial - 2025 District Swim Carnival

The 2025 Noosa District Swim Carnival will be held early in Term 1. Our team will be selected following a trial session on Wednesday 20 November. Students born 2013,2014 and 2015 are eligible.

Trial is aimed at experienced swimmers with expected standards available below.
Please note that students in Year 6 in 2024 are not eligible as they will access 2025 representative swimming via the high school system.

Events are 50m and 100m in the four swim strokes.

Students must register for the swim trial. Further information will be emailed once registrations close. Register prior to 11 November. 

2025 Noosa District Swim Carnival​​

  • Scheduled for 12 February 2025.
  • Team selected - members have received information.

  • Any newly enrolled students in 2025 who are talented competitive swimmers may submit times to Mr. Porter prior to Friday 31 January 2025. If times are competitive, we will ask District Carnival convenor for an extra competitor in those events. Inclusion will be at the discretion of carnival convenor. ​

2024 Noosa District Swim Carnival​​

Congratulations to all our swimmers for their awesome efforts at the recent district swim carnival.

An amazing effort from team Sunshine being named champion team for both the overall and enrolment averaged trophy. This success was a result of a terrific effort with all 27 Sunshine Beach swimmers being prepared to give 100% effort for their team.

Highlights for Sunshine Beach included:
Age Champion – Billie, Harry
Age Championship Runner Up  - Dylan, Lila
Age Championship 3rd – Samuel, Munay, Louis
Age Championship 4th – Nellie, Hendrix, Isabel, Leon
Age Championship 5th  - Jake, Bodhi.
Age Championship Top 10 – Romy, Chloe, Aurora, Anja, Luka
Top 10 in 3 events – Zander, Zion, Sunny
Top 10 event finish– Koko, Van, Alfie
Top 20 event  finish  - Zarli​,​ Baylee, Avery

Lila, Isabel, Romy, Chloe, Billie, Harry, Munay, Jake, Dylan, Samuel and Hendrix have been selected to represent Noosa District at the forthcoming Sunshine Coast Regional Swim Trials .

The swim carnivals allowed many students who have spent many very early mornings involved in local swim squads to showcase their talents . Having 11 children attending the regional level is an outstanding result.
