On Friday 24 May, 120 young musicians from our school performed at the Fanfare Festival at Coolum State School. Fanfare is a festival of bands and orchestras from Queensland state schools which celebrates the exciting music-making that is occurring in our schools.
At Fanfare, each ensemble is given an award, based on the music they present and the division they enter in. Our ensembles played exceptionally well with the Concert Band and Senior Strings awarded a Silver Award in division 3; the Foundation Band being awarded a Gold Award in division 4 and the Junior Strings being awarded a Platinum Award in division 4 for their performance.
Congratulation to our amazing Instrumental teachers Cath and Luke! Huge thanks to all the staff and parents who attended and helped.
And lastly, we’d like to thank the amazing parents and carers of our music students; the students’ continued involvement, and improvement, couldn’t happen without you reminding them to practise at home, helping them to take their instrument to school on the right day and giving them a kind word to continually encourage.
We are so proud of the young musicians at Sunshine Beach State School and can’t wait for the Sunshine Spectacular!
