Swimming

A swimming program  for year levels Prep - Year 5 occurs during  Term 1  or  Term 4.  The aims of the swimming program are as follows:

  • to increase water confidence
  • to develop water safety
  • to develop basic strokes.
  • to develop skills for survival swimming.

Lessons are conducted at the Noosa Aquatic Centre.

Swimming is a compulsory component of primary school curriculum.

Students in Years 4-6 take part in swimming carnivals during term 4.

Noosa District Primary Schools representative swim carnival occurs during Term 1.

District Swim Carnival 2019

Swimmers have been selected via 2018 term 4 school swim carnivals.  Team members have been emailed preliminary information.
 

District Swim Carnival is scheduled for early 20 February 2019. Events are for swimmers born 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Learners who enrol at the beginning of 2019 and are talented competitive swimmers wishing to be considered are asked to contact Mr. Porter prior to Monday 4 February 2019. (cport30@eq.edu.au). Times will need to be submitted. Participation will be dependent on times and approval of district carnival convenor.

Congratulations to all our swimmers for their efforts at the recent district swim carnival.

Highlights for Sunshine Beach included:

  • Age Champion - Niamh
  • Age Championship Runner Up  - Ava, Alex, Cadelle,.
  • Age Championship 3rd – Luke.
  • Age Championship 5th  - Darcy, Joe, Zara.
  • Age Championship Top 10 – Morgan, Rory, Saskia, Nathan, Jacqui.
  • Top 10 in 3 or more events – Tom, Ethan, Maya, Lennix.
  • Top 10 finishes – Benni, Alina, Wil, Jesse, Finn.


Rory, Ava, Niamh, Cadelle and Alex have been selected to represent Noosa District at the forthcoming Sunshine Coast Regional Swim Trials at Redcliffe.
