100 days of fun in Prep

Our Prep was filled with excitement and pride recently, when learners celebrated their milestone 100th day of prep. Their parents, the memory of dropping their child off for their very first day of school still fresh in their minds, came in to support and celebrate this big milestone with their young children.

When you are 5 years old the biggest number that you can possibly imagine is very often one hundred! The four Sunshine Beach classes and their parents rotated between activities such as making number ‘100’ glasses to wear, making cookies in the shape of ‘100’ and crowns stating that they were ‘One hundred days brighter’. With the help of their families, group lists were made listing ‘One hundred compliments’, ‘One hundred prep names’ and ‘One hundred things I have learnt”. In a fun ceremony, Principal Jenny Easey presented each child with a certificate congratulating them on reaching this educational milestone while parents fired up the barbie for a celebratory sausage sizzle.
While we are celebrating the journey that these 2017 Preps are taking, we are also focussing ahead and welcoming their incoming Prep 2018 learners to regular events in preparation for their own upcoming journey. The next open morning is Tuesday 1 August 2017 at 9am. Families are encouraged to attend more than one Open day event as this helps the children to become really comfortable and familiar in the setting. In the meantime, we also offers regular ‘Coffee and Chat’ mornings for parents, as well as free fortnightly ‘Permaculture and Environmental Art’ sessions on a Tuesday. To register your interest in any of these events, please call the office on 5474 6333.
